AMY YORKE Director

Qualified dance teacher with 25 years teaching experience and an absolute LOVE of what she does.

 

Amy Yorke is the Director of Dance Avenue. Amy started teaching as a junior teacher  in Tauranga and continued teaching  for 10 years gaining her teachers qualifications in Ballet , Jazz & Tap before branching out and opening her own dance school  in 2009. Amy is now a qualified Acro teacher with Acrobatic Arts.

 

Amy loves to dance but especially loves to see her students dancing to the very best of their ability.

Amy started dancing learning BBO ballet from age 4 then progressed to jazz and tap and finally into Musical Theatre , hip hop , contemporary , lyrical & acro

 

She has choreographed 4 big shows for the Tauranga Musical Theatre including the NZ premier of Copacabana and 2009's musical sensation CATS and GREASE in 2013.

 

Amy is married with 2 children who both have a love for music and dance , and a loving husband with lots of patience : )
